Leesly Leon, PR Coordinator
Leesly's career has unfolded within three very different sectors: airline industry, cultural non-profits, and recruitment and staffing. Each position has challenged her with its own set of responsibilities allowing her to develop a strong and diverse core of skills.
She brings 10 years of experience in volunteer management and program development thanks to her work as Volunteer Placement Coordinator, Bilingual Program Associate, and Docent Programs Coordinator with the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, the Children’s Museum of Denver and Denver Botanic Gardens respectively.
Throughout her non-profit career, Leesly has built successful partnerships with cultural institutions, businesses and federal agencies to deliver high-quality educational programs relating to the environment, the importance of conservation and the richness of diverse cultures.
She has recently worked as Relationship Manager for Mi Casa TalentSolutions, a social enterprise employment agency of Mi Casa Resource Center, where she connected businesses to qualified multilingual, multicultural professionals.
Leesly advocates for the success and engagement in public life of the diverse groups that are part of the Denver community.
She has a keen interest in languages and the cultures of the world; she is originally from Peru and has lived in Germany and Belgium. She graduated with the Grande Distinction from the Haute Ecole Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium) with a major in Public Relations and is currently pursuing a degree in International Economics at the University of Colorado Boulder.
